Shipping & Processing

All yarn is hand-dyed (except when sold as bare/undyed) and ships from Allen Park, Michigan, U.S.

Currently in stock orders are shipped out within 2–4 business days. Custom hand-dye orders require an additional 5–7 day processing time.

Adding caking/winding services to your order will add an additional 1-3 days to the fulfillment time of your order. Caking service is provided only for yarn purchased from Mitten Fiber Arts.

We offer $5.00 flat rate shipping in the U.S. and free shipping on orders in the U.S. over $125.

If you are missing your package or are concerned that it might be lost, you can send us a message through our Contact Page.

We are not responsible for shipping errors based on incorrect delivery information caused by customer nor costs or damage related to these errors.

Mitten Fiber Arts cannot reimburse orders that were misdelivered by the post office or stolen from your property, thank you for understanding.

Returns, Exchanges, & Cancellations

Cancellations are not accepted at this time.

We want you to be happy with the yarn you’re using in your projects. However, returns on non-defective in stock yarns are only accepted on a case by case basis.

We do not offer refunds on custom dyed yarn orders unless there are extenuating circumstances, which we will evaluate on a case by case basis.

If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your order, please contact us within 5 days of delivery.

After you have contacted us regarding a return, items must be shipped back within 14 days of delivery. Once item is returned in resellable condition, a refund will be issued for the cost of the item.

Shipping cost cannot be refunded, as it has been paid to 3rd party (USPS). Yarn has to be returned in its original condition – in the original hank, clean and without any signs of use. Yarn re-skeined or that has been wound into a ball/cake is not returnable. Yarn that has been wound into a cake through our yarn winding service is
also not returnable.

All clearance sales are final and not returnable.

Color Disclaimer

Actual product colors may vary from colors shown on your device. Product photos are edited to show the colors as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual color may still vary slightly and there is no guarantee that the colors you see accurately portray the true colors of the product. If you are unsure about the displayed photos, please contact me.

Yarn is usually dyed in batches of 3 or 4 hanks. If you order multiple hanks of the same colorway, I will do my best to color match the hanks within one batch. Please keep in mind that hand dyed yarns can look differently also within same batch. For best results, alternate the hanks within the same project.

Care Instructions

All of my yarns are dyed with acid dyes and rinsed until all excess dye washes out. Keep in mind, washing hand dyed yarns in temperatures above 100 F (37 C) will cause some dye to bleed. For best results, hand wash or machine wash on delicate setting, lay flat to dry or block.

Using regular laundry detergent or fabric softener on hand dyed yarns, may cause some dye to bleed and/or disrupt structure of fine fiber. To increase the lifespan of hand dyed yarns, detergents intended for fine fiber.

Please note it is not recommended to cake and store yarn for long periods of time. Winding yarn into a cake can put unnecessary tension on the fibers, potentially leading to stretching, gauge issues, and damage to the yarn quality if left stored as a cake for a long time. Storing yarn in its original skein or hank is recommended for long-term storage.

Subscriptions

By purchasing a subscription, you understand and agree to recurring monthly payments based on your selection.

Signup on or before the 14th of the month to receive that month’s colorway, shipped on the 1st of the next month. Your first payment will be charged on the 15th. The subscription will automatically renew each following month on the 15th.

If you signup on or after the 15th of the month, your first payment will be charged on the 15th of the next month, to begin receiving each month’s colorway monthly. The subscription will automatically renew each following month on the 15th.

Subscription payment timings are based on this website’s time zone, (Eastern USA / New York).

Legal & Privacy

I will only use your shipping and billing address and contact information to communicate with you about your order, to fulfill your order and for other necessary business-related purposes (such as paying taxes). Some anonymous data may also be collected by cookies or tracking software for order processing or analytics.
